It was with a few minutes ahead of schedule that we landed in Montreal, under a covered sky. On board the plane the commander made us look out for a beautiful spring day with 21°C. The sun ended up piercing and we almost burned ourselves when we read the 70°F of the hotel thermometer. First adaptation to be made, the convention of units of measurement, whether temperature, weights or distances. You really have to think differently.
Left at 8:45 a.m. from Nantes and arrived at 10:00 a.m. in Montreal we still had the day ahead of us with the 6 hours of time difference, and with the slogan, do not sleep. Difficult challenge for restorative nap lovers. We followed Laura's advice and went to a park that we went around until the night fell. Finally rather until our hotel room is available. A little ride to the local supermarket for races the next day and at 7:30 p.m. everyone was in bed. The next day we had a Greyhound bus at 8am (the famous buses we saw all our childhood in the TV series) for an 8 hour journey to Boston.

At the border crossing, we were greeted by charming customs officers with a necklace of flowers around our neck that welcomed us to the United States. Well, that was almost that... Everyone got off the bus to line up in front of the customs offices. Digital debt statement, selfie and a tax of 18$ as a welcome gift. Although we were warned, it wasn't very pleasant. Especially when we saw the head of the customs officer who opened the suitcase with the photo material. Everything was in order and we were able to get back on our way. We enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, until Boston where our host, Manue, was waiting for us. We still had an hour's drive to our resort.
First shock, there are large trees everywhere, which are almost uncut. Some could cross the road so close they are to cars. We see that Americans are not afraid of big trees and leave them alone, it's a pleasure!
We are therefore placed at 432 Fiske Street in Holliston in a large garden, surrounded by large trees and a peatland filled with birds.

Second shock, there are plenty of birds of all colors, and many that we don't know! This will be discussed in more detail in future articles.
We took our marks in our charming little cottage. First shopping at the supermarket, discovery walks of the surrounding countryside, discussions with our guests. We even attended the 300-year anniversary parade of the city of Hollyston, another different time scale.
We will now begin our new life for the next three months, rhythmic by our remote work and future encounters.
See you soon!
Manu, Céline and Elina
